Summer Foster
Summer began working with the Anita Zucker Center in 2025 as a graduate student assistant, supporting Early Childhood Studies Advanced Technology Lab projects under the guidance of Drs. Darbianne Shannon and Crystal Bishop. Her work at the center focuses on Practice-Based Coaching and Embedded Instruction for Early Learning. Her main responsibilities include transcription, behavioral observation and entry of coaching data.
She comes to the center with experience in applied behavior analysis and has served as a registered behavior technician, providing direct support for young children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. In this role, she used quantifiable behavioral data to inform treatment modifications and increase client independence in home and school settings. Her commitment to fostering children’s academic and personal growth through interdisciplinary intervention strategies has been strengthened through her implementation experience. She looks forward to continuing this work through her graduate program and applied research opportunities with the center.
Summer is currently pursuing an education specialist degree in school psychology at the University of Florida. Her academic interests include student-centered interventions and educational advocacy through research-informed strategies, with an emphasis on Early Childhood Studies.
