Biography

Lorin Winters joined the Anita Zucker Center in 2025 as a Research Coordinator. Her work at the Center focuses on the Florida Embedded Practices and Intervention with Caregivers (FL-EPIC) efficacy study and professional development projects.

Lorin earned her bachelor’s degree in Special Education in 2010 and her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2011, both from the University of Florida. Her professional experiences focus on supporting families and caregivers of young children in home and in early learning environments. Lorin served as a preschool director and administrator for the past 10 years in the Gainesville, FL, community. She is also a Professional Development Specialist (PDS) through the Council for Professional Recognition, conducting facility-based observation visits for National Child Development Associate (CDA) candidates. Most recently, Lorin served as an Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist with North Central Early Steps. In addition, Lorin serves as a board member of the Christian Preschool Association.

Through her professional and personal experiences, Lorin gained a passion for creating quality, trauma-informed early learning environments that support children and families of children with disabilities and children in the foster care system. She is eager to support the projects of the Anita Zucker Center as they align with her goals.
