Biography

Lita Tholen joined the Anita Zucker Center in August of 2019 as a Production Editor and Coordinator for the A to Z’s of Early Childhood, our web-based initiative designed to provide accessible and practical information about child development and learning to parents and professionals. In 2021, she took on a leadership role as managing production editor focused on supporting the Center’s mission within communications. Prior to working at UF, Lita was an editor at Scholastic Education in New York City and more recently a communications consultant for the successful 2018 campaign for the Children’s Trust of Alachua County.

Lita holds a master’s degree in Rhetoric and Composition from Pennsylvania State University, where she discovered a talent for translating academic discourse for a wider audience and an appreciation for closing the researcher-to-practitioner gap. She is a lifelong Gator who grew up in Gainesville and then lived in several cities all over the U.S.  before returning to her hometown with her family in 2010.
